TruDetxTM Bed Bug Rapid Test
TruDetxTM is designed to collect and analyze potential residues present from bed bugs on typical surfaces where they hide.
The test is over 90% accurate in detecting bed bug residues†
and can detect moderate and even low-level bed bug infestations.*
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Step One: (Do NOT open the foil pouch for the test until Step One is complete).
- Use the collection swab to sample areas where bed bugs hide (mattress seams, headboards, bed legs, baseboards, lounge chairs, etc.). Be sure to swab these areas thoroughly to collect any residues.
- Return the swab to its holder. Break the liquid seal in the blue bulb.
- Squeeze the bulb to release the liquid to the bottom of the tube.
- Cover the end of the swab with liquid, agitate gently for 15 seconds.
Step Two: Remove the test its pouch.
- Remove the small white cap at the bottom of the swab.
- Gently squeeze the bulb to apply four (4) drops of solution into the well at the end of the test.
- After 5 minutes, the test lines will appear to indicate findings:
- One line at C (Control) means the test is valid but no residues were found.
- Two lines, one at C and at T (Test) means the test is positive and bed bug residues were found.
Even a faint line at T means residues were found. - If there are no lines or only a line at T means the test in invalid.
- Test results are valid for 15 minutes.
- The test and the swab can be disposed in the trash.

*Presence or absence of bed bug residues can only be determined from thoroughly sampled surfaces. TruDetx Bed Bug Rapid Test can detect residues left from a previous infestation that is no longer active but as old as 90 days.
Documentation: TruDetx Bed Bug Rapid Test is over 90% effective at detecting residues from common bed bugs (Cimex lectularius*) and tropical bed bugs (Cimexhemipterus). Bat bugs are related insects and can produce a positive reading as can residues from black carpet beetles, (Attagenus unicolor).
