As valued clients, we’re excited to announce that as of January 2021, we’re rebranding. As part of our rebranding strategy, our company name will change from Ecopest Canada to Pestify. This name change is part of our strategy that transforms our name from one that is “corporate” to a shorter, and catchier name that is a more accurate represents our interaction with our clients.

What this means for our existing clients is that it’s business as usual with more capabilities offered for you. We will of course continue to execute our pest control plans with the same (if not better) commitment to success, and professionalism you’ve come to expect from us.

Pest Problems FAQs

These droppings and damages you observe could be from a number of possible pests. Our Certified Pest Control Technicians could visit you and do an inspection, taking into consideration the type and location of debris and damage left behind by the pest. An assessment will help determine the pests that are present and potential nests or harbourages.

Hearing activity in generally dark and closed areas, or within the walls, is a sign that you may have a pest problem or are in need of rodent control. Our Certified Pest Control Technicians can do an inspection, taking into consideration multiple factors such as geographic location, environment, building structure, the characteristics of droppings and other wastes and damage left behind by these uninvited guests to correctly identify the type of pests that are present.

We will start by inspecting the building for possible nests and entry points; getting rid of rats and mice within your property requires both trapping and eliminating the problem and making sure that rodents will not be able to re-enter your building. Why struggle to find where the rats are getting in? Contact Us!

Finding rodent droppings is not only an upsetting indicator of rodents in the home but is also unpleasant to deal with. It is integral that droppings are properly disposed of for the health. To avoid touching or inhaling any diseases or bacteria that may be present, it is recommended that droppings are cleaned up by:

  • Spraying the droppings with disinfectant without sweeping or moving them. Leave the droppings for half an hour after spraying them. If possible, air out the area and leave the droppings.
  • While the droppings are still damp and while wearing a mask and gloves, wipe up the rodent droppings and put them into a plastic bag. Immediately dispose of the bag outside, along with the gloves used to touch the droppings.
  • Wash your hands and refrain from touching your face until you are sure the area and your hands are clean.

These pests can carry multiple diseases and bacteria and have the ability multiply quickly, along with contaminating your food and being generally unsettling. Cockroaches also have the ability to cause asthma attacks!

Environmental modification is the most important component of a successful cockroach treatment, however, having a pest management professional on your team will help significantly. If you have cockroaches, call us!

  1. Scrub all the floors in your house, this includes vacuuming carpets and rugs.
  2. Remove bag from the vacuum cleaner.
  3. Linen and clothes should be sealed in clean bags after washing them or kept away from treatment areas.
  4. Removal of food items from bench tops, if there is any food outside (pet food) ensure it is covered.

Bait treatments offer consumers peace of mind if they prefer liquid chemicals not be applied. The type of pest, the severity of the problem and other factors determine the type of treatment we implement.

Scheduling regular pest service will stop pests before they become a problem. Regularly scheduled service will allow our technicians to watch for and spot possible signs of pest activity and act immediately to eliminate any threat. A preventative, pro-active approach to managing pests will keep you from annoying and potentially harmful pests.

Before Cockroach Treatment:

  • Remove any old boxes, papers and food containers, seal them in plastic garbage bags, and dispose of them outside.
  • Wash your dishes. Food scraps on dishes, pots, and pans piled in the sink can feed an army of cockroaches.

After Cockroach Treatment:

  • You will need to wash all dishes in hot soapy water after treatment of your home and before you use them.
  • DO NOT use any do-it-yourself pest control products. They may counteract or react with the product(s) used by your pest control technician.
  • It is normal is see cockroaches coming out and dying for the first 7 to 10 days. Sweep up the dead roaches immediately and discard outside of your home. If the cockroach is carrying an egg sack that egg can still hatch and you will be reinfected. If you are still seeing more than one or two cockroaches after two weeks please call for an extra service free of charge.

The key to preventing ants from infesting is preventing entry into your home. Ants are constantly foraging for food and water to share with the members of their colony and may even take up residence in your home in wall voids or other hidden spaces if conducive conditions exist.

Our treatment options vary depending on the severity of the ant problem and the species of ants involved. Ant control requires an integrated pest management approach, utilizing several strategies to achieve the goal of completely eliminating ants.

Contrary to popular belief, Carpenter ants don’t eat wood! They use their powerful mandibles to excavate moisture-damaged wood to build tunnels where they will nest! The course sawdust you see near a Carpenter bee harborage is from the wood that was processed by the ant’s mandibles, which would not be present if the wood was consumed.

Looking closely, you might be able to see the grooves on the Pavement ant’s head and thorax. They are approximately 1/8” long and are dark brown or black. Pavement ants prefer to stay outdoors, especially beneath flagstone patios and sidewalks.

If you are seeing worms on the ceiling, they are most likely the larval stage of the Indian Meal Moth and this means that you probably have an infestation in one or more of your dry food ingredients, such as flour, cereal, nuts etc.

Wasps and hornets commonly build their nests in elevated and hard to see areas including off tree branches and within a roof or attic space. The best and safest thing you can do is to call our Certified Pest Control Technicians who will thoroughly inspect your surroundings and the grounds for immediate wasp or hornet removal strategic. Our technicians are equipped with the proper procedures and protective gear to deal with these insects.

These itchy red welts may be caused by bed bugs feeding on a human host typically while the person is sleeping or sitting for long periods of time.

Our Certified Pest Control Technicians and we will help you determine if you have an infestation. Pest-specific training and experience are essential components in the overall success of a bed bug treatment program.

The number of treatments required may be greater than one, depending on the extent of the pest infestation especially cockroaches. After the initial treatment, it is normal to experience insect activity for up to two weeks. If activity continues into the third week, a follow-up treatment may be required. Give us a call!

Bed bugs are wingless and cannot fly or jump, but are able to enter into extremely small locations in the home because of their flattened bodies. Bed bugs can live for several weeks to several months without feeding, depending on the temperature.

Bed bugs are moved into and around a dwelling through infested furniture and bedding. They can also enter a home or hotel by being carried in on clothing or luggage. Bed bugs are often carried into a home on objects such as furniture and clothing. Bed bugs can also travel from apartment to apartment along pipes, electrical wiring, and other openings. When bed bug infestations are small, the bed bugs tend to reside near the bed.

As infestations grow larger, they tend to move beyond beds into other locations such as sofas and upholstered chairs. Female bed bugs may lay their eggs away from a heavy infestation to provide a greater chance of survival. If the infestation is heavy, a sweet smell may be noticed in the room.

Clients are allowed one extra service in between paid services. If you are needing additional service you may want to think about increasing the frequency of your service.

Each season brings specific bugs. So, a regular service is also necessary to break the egg and nesting patterns of the insects. Insect eggs are resistant to pesticides. Even though we serviced your property, most of the eggs that pests have already laid will hatch in future months. A recurring service plan provides you with year-round protection from pests as well as those migrating over from your neighbor’s property. Pest control treatment should be applied in your property at regular time frame – Weekly, Bi-monthly, Monthly or every 3 months is a great way to be safe and maintained from unwanted pest problems.

Pest Control Service technicians hold Ontario Ministry of the Environment licenses for structural pest management

Usually between 3 to 4 hours is adequate time frame to keep out of your property after each spray session.

Yes we do, and Sundays is by appointment only unless its an emergency of course.

Mice proliferate quickly and live in large families, typically of 7 to 20. They have small territories, with a maximum of 30 feet in any direction from their nesting site. Mice produce, on average, 70 droppings and 3000 micro-droplets of urine every 24 hours, which can cause major health issues.

There are three reasons that make getting rid of cockroaches so difficult. The first is that these insects can hide in the smallest of cracks or crevices. The second is that cockroaches will eat anything, including glue on paper bags and boxes. The third reason is that they reproduce every 30 days and may have 30 to 50 babies each time.
